Hello there! Welcome to New Kid on the Loch.

I’m Pristine and I currently live in the UK in Edinburgh, Scotland. I started New Kid on the Loch as a way to share my life and travel experiences with my family and friends.

After growing up in Sugar Land, Texas I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2012.

My economics and mathematics studies have led to multiple opportunities for me to live around the world including working as a software consultant in Houston, interning in Hong Kong for BBVA, a large international bank and studying at the University College Dublin in Ireland. I’ve also traveled throughout the US, the Philippines, Northern Ireland, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland.

While I certainly have more international experience than your average Texan, living in Scotland will be my longest journey overseas yet. I’m a twenty something coming from scorching hot summers, cowboy boots, and Tex-Mex tacos for breakfast.

Needless to say, I’m definitely the New Kid on the Loch.

    • Thank you! I had a list of blog name options and blog puns that I went through with some friends before deciding on this one.

Wouldn’t be too late to change the name of your blog if you really wanted to! You could keep the same buissonfamily.wordpress URL and just change the blog name. Although there’s nothing wrong with ‘Buisson International’
